VEEDEEO upgrades its system to simplify user experience

As part of the continuous R&D effort to make VEEDEEO the most innovative video cloud platform in the market, we have proceeded to a major upgrade at the beginning of this week.

As a result, the VEEDEEO system is now easier and simpler and has gained several improvements and convenient new features.

Improvements

1. Refreshed call interface

Simpler, cleaner and 100% user friendly. We understood the last call menu was quite confusing with so many button options, so we decided to let only the most used buttons visible during the call and arranged all other options on the new improved menu sidebar. This sidebar menu, on the left, will also be always visible so no feature is missed (some users were unaware of the former sidebar menu because that was hidden).

2. Screen-sharing performance better than ever

Faster and optimized so users can share any content on their screens during the video meetings with the best possible results. And to all internet users fancying Mozilla Firefox browser above all others, news are good. Is now possible to start a screen-share using this browser (no plugins needed).

3. Layout design more suitable to user demands

Users can now change the layout regardlessly of the number of participants, as well as enable or disable VAD at any moment during the call. This means VAD no longer turns automatic in meetings with 5 or more participants.

4. VEEDEEO turns multi-language

We are giving the first steps into making VEEDEEO a multi-language platform. We have added two new languages beside English: is now possible to use the platform in Portuguese or Spanish. Boas notícias! Users can change the language preference at anytime, even right before entering the call (this will not affect the preference of the organizer).

5. Audio-only participants can now watch the video meeting

Just a matter of choice. If a user doesn’t have the necessary gear or doesn’t want to participate in a video meeting, he or she can listen to and watch it anyway in audio-only mode.

6. Testing audio to make it flawless

When onboarding a call, users can select the audio output (speakers) and test the audio before the meeting. Any technical flaw can be therefore identified and corrected in advance so as not to affect the video session.

7. Registered Video Systems can be called from the meeting interface

Global Video Directory is now integrated in the call interface, allowing users to add / call registered video systems during the meeting. Registered systems must be online.

8. Permission to speak during a meeting

Also we have added the Raise hand (or Request to speak) feature to help hosts to moderate participants and conduct a truly productive video meeting. This new feature can be found on the left sidebar menu.

Build your contact lists from your VEEDEEO broadcast sessions

We understand webinars and online events are great marketing actions and lead collectors. VEEDEEO has been developing the Video Broadcast feature so it can be the perfect tool for marketing, human resources and customer support departments. Our main concern is, of course, the image and audio quality, but we also want to help you build your contact lists.

That is why we are now introducing the possibility of requesting both name and email of all viewers. This feature is optional and you can disable it anytime before starting your broadcast session.

To enable Name and Email, go to your VEEDEEO space and start a broadcast session. On the broadcast settings board, select the option “Require name and email to watch” by activating the toggle button (see image below).

When you enable this option, all viewers will be requested to insert their email and name before watching.

To access the viewers list after the broadcast session has ended, go to your Timeline and look for the Past Meetings. On the respective meeting card press the icon Broadcast_Past Meeting Timeline_Icon BroadcastvIewers Details (Broadcast viewers details).

You will be able to see the full list of the broadcast viewers, their emails and the time they joined and left the session. Also you can download all details to a .csv file (editable in tools like Excel or Google Sheets).

Join video meetings audio only

You can now join or start any VEEDEEO meeting audio only!

You can be a participant in a video meeting and keep your camera off. You can be a listener or even say what you have to say while you are on the move or seated in a openspace.

This is a great update on VEEDEEO and is particularly useful if you do not have a webcam on your desktop but really need to attend the meeting or your bandwidth is quite poor. It also helps you avoid unnecessary interruptions during the meeting due to bad internet connection.

When you are about to join or start a VEEDEEO meeting, choose Audio only and then click START.

All your guest can enter the meeting and choose audio only as well. If they click the link on the email invitation, they will be able to choose their entry in the meeting. They can select CALL AUDIO ONLY.

Manage everything VEEDEEO from the new improved Admin Dashboard

You can have a wide control of your VEEDEEO account and host your video meetings with full comfort. How?

The Admin Dashboard gives you all the information about:

  • the number of active users and Admins;
  • the number of video meetings happening at the moment and who is hosting the meeting;
  • the capacity available for any user to start a meeting at the moment (for example, if you subscribed a dedicated instance of 16 video connections and there is a video meeting being hosted by one of the users of your account with 6 video connections, the instance still have 10 video connections available for other users to start their own video meetings);
  • all the video meetings scheduled by all users;
  • the past video meetings.

You can get reports of your users and meeting details, add new users and Admins and edit them, or open a support ticket without leaving the platform. All you need to know about your VEEDEEO account activity is in the Admin Dashboard.

Only Admins can access the Dashboard – you can have unlimited Admins, or centralize it in only one, which makes it simpler to manage your enterprise VEEDEEO account.

Set the best definitions at the meeting entry

You are about to start a video meeting, but you forgot to set everything for the best image and audio quality. Do no worry!

From now on, you can start or join a VEEDEEO meeting and change your settings right before you enter your video space.

When you GO TO VIDEO SPACE or START MEETING, you are redirected to the meeting settings page. There you will find several options to help you optimize the meetings experience.

If you enter the meeting as the host

Choose the media source of your preference:

If you enter the meeting as a guest

Guests can follow the invitation link on their emails. All guests are able to access to any video meeting with different types of entry:

  • using browser;
  • using video conferencing system;
  • audio only;
  • or screen-sharing only – if they only need to share a file with the other participants (for example, you are an assistant on a broadcast session, and you are supporting the speaker by showing his visual content).

VEEDEEO Timeline has new navigation options

The VEEDEEO Timeline was improved – you can easily:

  • find what you need on the side menu,
  • quick dial a video conferencing number or insert a guest email to instantly join or start a video meeting by clicking on the QUICK DIAL button,
  • see the list of all scheduled and past video meetings and even copy a video meeting to keep the same details (such as participants or subject).

Manage all meetings and users in the new improved Admin Dashboard

Get the info you need to start a new video meeting, creat new users, check all scheduled meetings… Learn a little more about the new Admin Dashboard feature.

Search all meeting data in History

In the History section you can easily search by meeting date, name and account user and get a detailed report of the meeting duration, the participant list and the total minutes spent in each video meeting.

This feature makes you informed of the VEEDEEO activity in your account.

Customize your user profile

You can link you LinkedIn or Facebook account and use your profile picture from these two social media networks, or you can create your own from Gravatar. You can change your user name, phone number and the timezone.

You have 4 ringtones for your income VEEDEEO calls. You can choose and change whenever you want.

Your profile also allows you to choose the video preferences of your meeting and broadcast sessions, as well as a link to your very own broadcast space.
