VEEDEEO upgrades its system to simplify user experience

As part of the continuous R&D effort to make VEEDEEO the most innovative video cloud platform in the market, we have proceeded to a major upgrade at the beginning of this week.

As a result, the VEEDEEO system is now easier and simpler and has gained several improvements and convenient new features.

Improvements

1. Refreshed call interface

Simpler, cleaner and 100% user friendly. We understood the last call menu was quite confusing with so many button options, so we decided to let only the most used buttons visible during the call and arranged all other options on the new improved menu sidebar. This sidebar menu, on the left, will also be always visible so no feature is missed (some users were unaware of the former sidebar menu because that was hidden).

2. Screen-sharing performance better than ever

Faster and optimized so users can share any content on their screens during the video meetings with the best possible results. And to all internet users fancying Mozilla Firefox browser above all others, news are good. Is now possible to start a screen-share using this browser (no plugins needed).

3. Layout design more suitable to user demands

Users can now change the layout regardlessly of the number of participants, as well as enable or disable VAD at any moment during the call. This means VAD no longer turns automatic in meetings with 5 or more participants.

4. VEEDEEO turns multi-language

We are giving the first steps into making VEEDEEO a multi-language platform. We have added two new languages beside English: is now possible to use the platform in Portuguese or Spanish. Boas notícias! Users can change the language preference at anytime, even right before entering the call (this will not affect the preference of the organizer).

5. Audio-only participants can now watch the video meeting

Just a matter of choice. If a user doesn’t have the necessary gear or doesn’t want to participate in a video meeting, he or she can listen to and watch it anyway in audio-only mode.

6. Testing audio to make it flawless

When onboarding a call, users can select the audio output (speakers) and test the audio before the meeting. Any technical flaw can be therefore identified and corrected in advance so as not to affect the video session.

7. Registered Video Systems can be called from the meeting interface

Global Video Directory is now integrated in the call interface, allowing users to add / call registered video systems during the meeting. Registered systems must be online.

8. Permission to speak during a meeting

Also we have added the Raise hand (or Request to speak) feature to help hosts to moderate participants and conduct a truly productive video meeting. This new feature can be found on the left sidebar menu.

VEEDEEO introduces the Cloud Video Room Console

VEEDEEO has hosted the webinar “Bring your Video System to the Cloud” on April 11 to introduce a new service for companies with video conferencing systems – the Cloud Video Room Console.

This new service is free and is available online without the need to instal anything. Users will only have to register video conferencing systems in the VEEDEEO cloud – free and unlimitedly.

The Cloud Video Room Console is a call management console built for the comfort of its users, so they can start a video call as fast as a single tap.

Each equipment or video conferencing room has one dedicated Room Console. To have access to the Room Consoles you just need to create an account and register the equipments in the VEEDEEO cloud. Account and register are free and include personalized support.

Connect your endpoints directly to your virtual meeting room

If you have created endpoints in your VEEDEEO account, you probably have noticed you can add your endpoints as “guests” when you schedule your video meetings.

This is useful because it books the video conferencing room for your meeting (other users will know there will be a meeting in that room at determined time and date), but it also makes it faster to start your meeting.

How?

If you are organizing a video meeting and you have added an endpoint as guest, you can connect the endpoint directy from your scheduled meeting card and automatically enter your meeting in “control mode”.

This is possible if your endpoint is registered in the VEEDEEO cloud gatekeeper. 30 minutes before the meeting scheduled start time, you will see a “Connect” button next to the endpoint “participant” name (as image below).

If you click Connect, you will connect the endpoint to your virtual meeting room.

How to make endpoints visible in the Global Directory

When an Admin creates an endpoint on the VEEDEEO platform, he can name the equipment or room (for instance, “Board meeting room”), set the maximum video resolution of the equipment or even add a calendar resource email to quickly book the room.

All created endpoints are listed in the Video Systems Directory page. In this page Admins can see the full list of the video endpoints, with respective video number and PIN.

To register the video conferencing equipment free in the global directory, Admins can use both the video number and PIN. Also, is now possible to make endpoints visible in the Global Directory.

To make endpoints visible in the global directory, Admins just need to check the box Visible in global directory on the Edit window of the endpoint (see image below).

Endpoint will only be visible in the global directory if it is registered in the VEEDEEO cloud.

VEEDEEO has created two new icons to tell which endpoints are visible and registered. The new icons are available in the Additional endpoint info table (see image below).

If endpoint is visible, the globe icon will be orange. If endpoint is registered in the VEEDEEO cloud, the arrows icon will become green check icons.

The Global Video Directory is a free service, so you can create and register unlimited endpoits. Create your account to create and register your endpoints.

VEEDEEO introduces the global video network

It’s official!

VEEDEEO has released the first global network for enterprise video communications on the 8th of February during a webinar to a large online audience.

During an informal conversation, Carlos Tavares, CEO and founder of VEEDEEO, introduced the network, explaining its importance and utility for companies with video conferencing equipments. The recording of the online event is available to replay in this link.

The good thing about the VEEDEEO’s global network is it solves problems caused by firewalls, allowing direct video calls between two video conferencing systems – internal or external – with the exact same easiness as we make phone calls. Each equipment must be registered to get a video number. Also it works as a global directory, where users can make their equipment’s video numbers visible (optional) to other users, thus making it easier to call any equipment.

As the network keeps growing every day, companies find this service quite useful to facilitate communications with other companies, saving them from complex configurations and other technical headaches.

This service is free and unlimited. To start making direct 1-to-1 video calls, it’s only necessary to create an account and then register each video equipment on the VEEDEEO cloud directory.
